Capacity & Spaces

  • Overnight lodging: Up to 20 guests across four dwellings.

  • Daytime gatherings: Best for intimate weddings and family events up to 55 guests.

  • Event areas: Lakefront ceremony sites, pavilion, trout pond, fire pits, and open grounds — perfect for lakefront weddings, reception dinners, portraits, and lawn games.

Fees & Deposits

  • A separate event fee applies to all celebrations.

  • Refundable damage deposit required.

  • Deposits due at booking; remaining balance due prior to arrival.

Event Hours

  • Music & amplification end by 10:00 PM (quiet hours observed thereafter).

  • Include setup and breakdown in your timeline.

  • Standard check-in/check-out applies for overnight lodging.

Vendors & Planning

  • Outside vendors welcome (catering, florals, photography, rentals, music, coordination).

  • Renter is responsible for all planning, setup, staffing, and cleanup.

  • Preferred local vendor list available on request.

  • COI/insurance from vendors may be required.

Facilities & Infrastructure

  • Pavilion: Rustic, covered space for dining, bar service, and gatherings.

  • Restrooms: In-cabin restrooms available; portable restrooms may be required for larger guest counts.

  • Power/Lighting: Standard service suitable for small events; confirm additional needs with your vendors.

Parking & Transportation (Required)

  • On-site parking is limited to overnight guests and approved vendors.

  • Carpooling or a shuttle is required for all additional event guests.

  • Limited parking exists near the entrance only.

  • Property road is one-lane and not safe for frequent guest traffic—all non-lodging arrivals/departures must use the designated shuttle.

Restrictions & Safety

  • Noise: Quiet hours after 10:00 PM.

  • Decor: No nails, staples, tape, or adhesives on structures; remove all décor after the event.

  • Alcohol: Allowed in accordance with NC ABC rules.

  • Fire pits: Allowed with active supervision; fully extinguish after use.

  • Swimming & boating: At guests’ own risk; minors must be supervised at all times.

  • Leave No Trace: Pack in/pack out policy for all vendors and guests.

Weather & Contingency Planning

  • Emerald Lake is primarily an outdoor venue.

  • A backup plan is strongly recommended (tents, heaters, fans, sidewalls, floor panels).

  • Coordinate rain plans and inclement-weather logistics with your vendors in advance.

Note on lodging: On-site overnight capacity is up to 20 guests. If your group exceeds 20 overnight guests, the extras must arrange off-site accommodations.

  • Whole-stay readiness: site prep, day-of access, basic breakdown window, and time to relax

  • Utilities & normal wear

  • Pre- and post-event inspections

  • Parking/shuttle logistics planning for the one-lane road

  • Waste handling (dumpster service)

Not included

  • Lodging beyond the on-site maximum

  • Event rentals, décor, and specialty lighting

  • Staffing/coordination or day-of management

  • Vendor services (catering, music, photography, etc.)

  • Portable restrooms, permits, and insurance/COIs

  2. We’ll confirm availability, fees, and lodging details.

  3. Reserve with a signed agreement, event fee, and damage deposit.

  4. Submit vendor list, insurance certificates, and shuttle plan prior to arrival.
